About The Event

About The Event

COVID-19 is a global health phenomenon and critical juncture leading to changes on human life aspects. The devastating pandemic has significant impacts to the world, including health, development, economic, political, and social crises. Since the world attempts to return to the new normal, more extensive post-pandemic mitigation is required to achieve alertness and create a more resilient and sustainable world for everyone.

Muslim communities should play essential roles in response to the post-pandemic impacts. Integrating transcendental aspects in human lives amidst uncertainties caused by COVID-19 is one of critical attitudes that the Islamic community must display. Islam is not only associated with religious belief but also illuminates the fundamental religious idea of Islam that the believers accept surrender and submit to the will of Allah. The Qur’an and Hadith are two primary sources of Islam, which guide the Muslims’ faith, life, and ethic. Thus, in the teaching of Islam, human necessities have been acknowledged and fulfilled to provide vitality and regulate human life in all its different aspects and affairs.

The University of Darussalam (UNIDA) Gontor asserts that the contribution of both Muslims and Non-Muslims scholars are critical to deal with humanity and post-pandemic challenges. Henceforth, the UNIDA Gontor is initiating an International Islamic conference titled “Harnessing Islamic Values for Global Recovery” gathering leading scientists, researchers, scholars, and practitioners to discuss and work closely on solutions addressing most pressing post-CVID-19 global challenges.
